Hooly is a contemporary artist based in Kyoto.
Inspired by the sense of “beauty” and “cuteness” expressed positively by women in gravure and fashion magazines, Hooly pays tribute to and resonates with this self-empowerment, deliberately highlighting feminine silhouettes in his works. Rather than embellishing with facial expressions or dramatic poses, he conveys the allure that captivates him as a man through subtle details such as hairstyles and clothing. His pieces are unified by simple, front-facing, upright poses, creating a distinctive style with continuity across the series.
